Life story
September 2, 2017

Sr. Elizabeth Kah Mufut, was born in Bamenda, Cameroon on the 3rd of October 1965 to Clement and Bridget Mufut. She is the second of eight children. She attended the St. Anthony primary school Kumba-Mbeng and GTHS (Government Technical High School).

She joined the Sisters of St. Therese, an indigenous group of women founded to serve the needs of the church and the marginalized on the 1st of October 1986 and consecrated her life in the service of the Church and the poor. She made her first profession on the 24th of March 1990 and her final profession on the 30th of December 1997.

Sr. Kah desired to become a nun from childhood and was referred to as Sr. Kah even before she joined the sisters of St. Therese because of her dedication to the needy in their neighborhood in Kumba.

Sr. Kah took care of several people abandoned people in the Kumba town community. She had a passion to minister to young people and was appointed the spiritual directress of YCW (Young Christian Workers) Kumba Town. She equally worked zealously with young people in Kumbo, helping them to live good Christian lives. She served in CKC (Christ the King College) as a teacher and financial administrator.

Sr. Kah later had an opportunity to study Theology in United States of America where she earned an MA in Pastoral Theology. In her quest to bring solace to the sick she also trained as a hospital chaplain.

Unfortunately, as soon as she completed her studies, she was diagnosed of lung cancer. Sr. Kah was determined to live and serve the people of God she had dedicated her life to serve but God seemingly had better plans for her. She believed God would heal her and she did all she could to cooperate with the healing grace of God. She survived the odds of lung cancer for close to five years.

The Lord finally put an end to her struggles when he called her to rest on Sunday the 3rd of September 2017 at about 1.00 AM. Sr. Kah had a sweet and gentle personality. She was completely dedicated to anything thing she opted for.

She was a peace loving person and had an irresistible smile. She is and will be greatly missed by her friends, family and the Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus of Buea. May her soul rest in peace at the bosom of Him whom she loved and gave her life to serve.
